"I struggled with keeping my second story comfortable for years, even spending thousands on a new A/C unit. I still wasn't getting the results I was after, so I started looking at attic fans.… I found an environmentally-friendly solar version, and after weeks of researching the various options available, I kept coming back to the Natural Light family of products. I was thoroughly convinced of the superior quality of these products so I installed a 20W Natural Light Solar attic fan on my roof, realizing an immediate and dramatic drop in the daytime temperature of the attic. My upstairs A/C runs much less and I can now cool the upstairs to a comfortable level during the heat of the day. The next exercise was to improve the lighting in my upstairs bathroom. I installed a tubular skylight and 'WOW' what a difference. I was so hooked on the benefits of solar attic cooling and natural lighting that I decided to create a business so that I could share these results with others."

Solar Fanatics is owned and operated by Michael Haas. After a few years in the roofing and general construction trades, he served in the US Air Force for nine years earning honors including Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year and Outstanding Airman of the Year. He later enjoyed a successful career in business operations and customer service with various technology companies. Michael holds degrees in both technology and business, and continues to be a fanatic learner with a passion for renewable energy.

Michael and his family have resided in Cedar Park since 1996. Since then, his community involvement has been constant with roles as soccer coach, scout troop leader, and community volunteer. He is a graduate of the Leadership Cedar Park program, serving as the Leadership Alumni President in 2004. He is an active member of the Leander and Cedar Park Chambers of Commerce, as well as the Breakfast Club Network.
